Larnaca - in depth
Larnaca is located inthe south eastern area of Cyprus. It is one of the oldest cities in the world and stands on the ancient Bronze Age settlement port of Kitium, which flourished by exporting copper mined from the nearby Troodos mountains.
Larnaca was extensively rebuilt in the 1970s but has retained its relaxing charm. There is a mile long seafront promenade called Finihoundes (palm trees) with many cafes, tavernas, restaurants and a superb sandy beach. There is also a yacht marina at the far end and the main shopping area is only a few minutes walk away.
The annual Kataklysmos Festival held in June, is a great attraction. There are also many architectual treasures to explore.
The properties in the Larnaca area are cheaper than the rest of the island and overall a good investment.
